about ARISE

Arise is a Release-Time for Religious Instruction Program specifically designed for High School students in public High Schools.  We provide an opportunity for teenagers to have meaningful conversations with friends and youth leaders from the community during the school day.

Spiritual questions and biblical values shouldn’t be accessible only in the evenings and weekends; Arise brings them into the school day.

Arise utilizes a Supreme Court Ruling that allows Churches and Public Schools to work in tandem to provide students with an opportunity to practice religious freedom within the context of Public School systems. The program takes place off school property, uses no taxpayer funding, and requires written consent from a parent or guardian.

Arise gives students outlets for safe personal expression and faith exploration that public school systems cannot.

what is RELEASE- TIME?

Arise is a Release-Time for Religious Instruction program that allows high school students—with parental permission—to step off campus during a non-academic period for character-shaping, faith-centered discussion. Arise coordinates with administrators to ensure full compliance with state law, including attendance reporting, transportation, safety procedures, and scheduling.

As a result of Arise, more high school students are following Jesus, engaging in meaningful faith conversations, and becoming active in the life of a local church.

BECAUSE EVERY STUDENT NEEDS A SPACE WHEN QUESTIONS ARISE

I didn't know I was allowed to ask these big of questions in a church.

Nick, 17

I never really considered whether or not Jesus's death on the cross actually changed anything about my life until I went to Arise.

Ethan, 17

I feel most loved when people listen with no agenda - Arise is that for me.

what LEADERS ARE SAYING

“What Arise has built in our community is rare. In a city where homes, schools, and churches too often operate in separate lanes, Arise has created a moment where all three move together — united around the young people who live at the intersection of each.”

— SCOTT FADNESS

Mayor, City of Fishers

Arise is not a program that competes with the local church. It is a tool that serves it, and it is working.”

— REV. DR. JO ANNE LYON

General Superintendent Emerita, The Wesleyan Church

“The Arise model, which requires a minimum of four local churches to collaborate before a program is launched, is the most structurally compelling expression of community-based youth ministry collaboration we have encountered.”

— REV. RANDY DAVIS

President & CEO, National Network of Youth Ministries

“What they have built — with limited resources and remarkable tenacity — is a unique model that is ready to scale.”

— BEN ELMORE

CEO, Servant IO
